PropTech Future Startup Pitch Competition: A Winner has been Crowned.
PropTech Future hosted the finals for our PropTech Startup Pitch Competition on September 14th. The competition was open to all Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A startups. We received 73 entries from across the globe, and the level of ingenuity and the creativity of the business models was inspiring. All of the Pitch Decks are available to be viewed at proptechfuture.com.
After nearly 700 votes, the entries were narrowed down to the following 6 finalists:
Each of the finalists had 4 minutes to pitch in front of our judging panel, followed by 2 minutes of Q&A. The judging panel was comprised of the following VCs and PropTech Executives:
Rohit Iragavarapu - VP at TCV
Tim Curran - CEO at Building Engines, Inc.
Maciej Plichta, CFA - PropTech Solutions at Colliers
Madison Gesser - Investor at Navitas Capital
Jim Pettit - Founder and Managing Partner at Navitas Capital
All six companies did an amazing job with their pitches, and at the end of the voting process, there was a tie for first place between Swivel and Tensorflight. Per the rules, the tie breaking vote was cast from the competition Sponsor: PropTech specialized branding company Together. The final vote went to Tensorflight.
The Winner
Tensorflight offers global technology for the insurance industry providing structured property data by analyzing aerial, satellite, and street view imagery. It gives unique insights into commercial properties with residential capabilities. They automate monotonous tasks and processes that are currently done manually, speeding them up from days to seconds. This enables instant automated quoting of insurance policies. Tensorflight provides highly accurate and near-instant data about global properties in addition to tools and services to complement the data. Their tools reduce the cost of in-person property inspections by over 25% and increase the efficiency of the claim teams 10x. The Finalists
Swivel
The Swivel Design Experience Platform helps landlords reduce vacancy downtime and win more deals. Through Swivel’s suite of products—Interactive Space Showcase and Digital Space Planning—landlords can give tenants the ability to visualize and tour a commercial space prior to being built out, then quickly plan and design the space through an immersive experience to match the tenant’s programmatic requirements. This results in a shortened and seamless leasing process that is traditionally drawn out by a tenant’s uncertainty of how the space will look once constructed. Today, many of the largest institutional ownership groups and global brokerages use Swivel's sophisticated visualization technology across hundreds of properties in more than 25 markets to reduce the time and cost associated with commercial office leasing.

Zapfloor
Flexible real estate had been growing in popularity well before the pandemic, but the need for these solutions has accelerated post-pandemic as companies are hesitant to commit to long term leases, and many companies are instituting a hybrid work strategy. There are many flexible real estate operators across the globe, and new companies continue to be launched. Many landlords are starting their own in-house branded flexible work solutions as well. Besides providing the furnished space, operators need to provide a tech-stack to seamlessly manage the space including billing, access, calendar integrations, reservations, reporting, and a host of other services. This is where Zapfloor comes in:
